Owning to the success of the completion another maybe planed in the near future

Dear Member,

Many of you will already be aware of the problems we have encountered with the Public Liability insurance provided by CSSC insurers.  In a nutshell, the CSSC insurance doesn't provide public liability cover for yacht racing.  This means that in the event of a claim being made against HPSC the Race Officer and Committee could be personally liable for paying claims running into tens of thousands (or even millions) of pounds.  Tuesday evening cruiser racing has already been suspended as a result of this discovery. 
 
The Committee and CSSC are working hard to resolve the situation but the regatta is coming up and there is currently no immediate solution in sight.  The cruiser racing makes up over 60% of the weekends activities and there is some concern that, if we cancel cruiser racing, those attending the other activities will be severely reduced as well. 
 
Therefore, after much discussion, the Committee have decided to postpone the whole regatta (including Sunday activities) until further notice. 
 
The fishing competition planned for the Saturday WILL go ahead.
 
As soon as we have received written confirmation that the appropriate insurance cover is in place we will re-schedule the regatta and let everyone know

Update on the recent thefts – CPS are proceeding with a prosecution

Yacht lift in next month. You need to insure your a fully prepared for the lift in. Fees paid, trailers fir for purpose.

Don't forget, craning in next month. Insure your trailers etc a fit for purpose. Remove and dispose of your litter do not leave it for others to clear. Dispose of harmful chemicals properly so as not to contaminate the site.

We have had some intruders in the yard on the morning of the 24th February. It's on CCTV. Please check your boat and add any missing items to the list on the club house hanging on the wall. The police have been informed.
